CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is a study of various structured approaches to managerial decision-making. This course is intended to be taken at the end of the Management program. Students must receive a C or higher in this course to be eligible for graduation.

REQUIRED TEXT: "Strategic Management" 11th Edition of Concepts and Cases, by David, Prentice Hall, ISBN 0-13-1869493 TRIPS TO CAMPUS REQUIRED: 2 ACCESS CODE REQUIRED: No ORIENTATION INFORMATION: N/A INSTRUCTOR: David Lucero INSTRUCTOR E-MAIL: David.Lucero@gvltec.edu INSTRUCTOR'S NOTE: Case presentations will be conduc! ted on June 25th CJ 221 6pm until completion. And July 23rd CJ 221 6pm until completion. Please understand that this course is the capstone course for Management and is considered one of the most difficult in the Curriculum. Additionally three case studies are required that take a vast amount of time. DISTANCE LEARNING ATTENDANCE POLICY: In order to avoid access denied status, students should make contact with their instructor within the first three days of class. Attendance in an online class is defined by correspondence and the student is expected to demonstrate, at least once a week, that he/she is actively involved and is corresponding in the class. Examples of activities that can be used to demonstrate this involvement include, but not limited to the following: posting/receiving e-mails, participating in online course discussions via bulletin boards and chat rooms, and completing and submitting course assignments. Students not meeting the minimum attendance/correspondence requirement may be withdrawn with a grade of "W" or "WF" based upon the student's academic standing at the last date of attendance/correspondence. Email through WebCT will be the primary means of communication, especially when the student is having difficulty answering a question or solving an exercise or a problem. For your instructor to help you effectively, please provide as much information as possible when communicating and it is the student's responsibility to check all virtual correspondence (email, bulletin board) regularly.
