CATALOG COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course provides an introduction to the knowledge and skills necessary for working in the animal care industry. Topics include diseases, breed identification, canine anatomy, terminology, common disease symptoms, first aid, and proper handling skills.

Attendance in an online class is defined by correspondence and the student is expected to demonstrate, at least once a week, that he/she is actively involved and is corresponding in the class. Email through WebCT will be the primary means of communication, especially when the student is having difficulty answering a question or solving an exercise or a problem.
