New Students Begin Here

We value our online students at Greenville Tech, and it is our goal to create an exceptional and positive online student experience.  For technical support, an advisor, concierge or coach, contact the College Online Staff.

Begin with a stop at our Online Orientation .  If you are new to online learning, it is important to become familiar with the course requirements from the course syllabus. For course syllabus, which includes required materials, number of trips to campus, and other course information, go to Course Schedules; choose Videocourses or Online Courses and click on the corresponding course link.  Online courses are not simply an automated class.  Online instructors expect students who are critical readers, problem solvers, independent learners. Expect regular discussion, interaction and communication to be integral parts of your online course.  Online learners need basic computer skills including familiarity with their personal computer, internet service provider and security software.  Each online course provides an orientation to WebCT, our course tool software, but not basic computer knowledge.  Online learning is flexible and convenient, but not "easier!"   Please discuss these aspects of online learning with Chris Satterfield , Online Academic Advisor (Chris.Satterfield@gvltec.edu).

Prepare for the semester early:

· Begin at Online Orientation .

· Make sure your personal computer is ready for class!  Check out the Technical Requirements for recommendations and assistance..
